This program aims at creating an access to basic healthcare services for the rural population by strengthening and restructuring the available health care delivery system.
NCHD has initiated this program in collaboration with Government of Punjab. Basic Health Unit’s (BHU) catchment area is the implementation unit of program. NCHD first aligns the real health needs of the population, builds up the capacity of health personnel in “Health management”, and then empowers communities to become active participants in the process of health delivery.
- Integration of all the health programs/activities at Union Council level
- Improving health behaviors
Provision of need-based:
- Preventive services (outreach & facility based)
- Basic curative services
- Emergency services
- Provision of maternal care (outreach & facility based)
- Establishment of effective referral system
