Mrs. Razina Alam Khan

Former Senator Mrs. Razina Alam Khan has assumed the charge as Chairperson National Commission for Human Development (NCHD). Her long meritorious services for Education has made her a socially acclaimed figure in the development sector.

The honorable Chairperson has to her credit some outstanding achievements in social, educational and political fields in Pakistan. She earned M.A Economics from University of Karachi in 1966. She secured 1st position in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan in 1981. She started off her career as a teacher at Army Public School Multan and subsequently became its Principal. She served in the Education sector from 1977 to 1991. She remained President of Children's Academy Multan from 1980 to 1984. She worked as a Project Manager in the Ministry of Education (LAMEC) for eight years.

She has been actively engaged in planning, organizing, monitoring and evaluating projects for Female Education, Adult Literacy, Vocational training for Female Teachers, Skill training programs and projects of women empowerment. She has been preparing and delivering lectures in the rural areas on socio-economic problems with special reference to women’s education, skill training, micro-credit and empowerment.

She has been working as Convener Literacy Committee Pakitan Muslim League - (N) since September 14, 2014 and Convener Sub Committee of Literacy (Adult, Functional & Basic Education) Non Formal Education, Elementary, Secondary & Higher Secondary Education Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training Islamabad.

She has written numerous publications and periodicals. She is author of the book named “SUNO PIYARI BAITI”.

She remained Member of Senate of Pakistan from 2003 to 2009 and has served as member of many senate standing committees. She  also served as Chairperson of the Sub-Committee of the Senate Finance Committee and Chairperson of the Senate Standing Committee on Education and Science & Technology from April 21, 2004 to March 11, 2009.

She remained member of different National Committees on Education, Literacy and Social development Sector in Pakistan. She further enhanced her rich experiences by participating in more than 32 International/National/Regional and Sub Regional training courses/workshops organized by UNESCO, Ministry of Education and different NGOs regarding organization of literacy programs, training of literacy personnel, preparation of literacy & Post Literacy follow up material, training of literacy teachers, master trainers literacy organizers.

Former Senator Razina Alam Khan has widely travelled around the world as representative from Government of Pakistan in Education related initiatives which include offiical trips to USA, UK, Italy, Bulgaria, India, Turkey, Poland, Spain and Bosnia.

Razina Alam Khan has dedicated more than 38 years for the promotion of Education. She is whole-heartedly striving for an educated and prosperous Pakistan.
