National
Commission for Human Development (NCHD) has signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with National Trust for
Population Welfare (NATPOW) for the program titled “Literacy
for Family Health”. For this purpose, a ceremony
was held in Islamabad on January 5, 2009. Federal Minister
for Population Welfare Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan was the
chief guest.
Through
this program NCHD will be introducing health literacy
in its Adult Literacy Centers where learners, mostly
women, will be informed about personal hygiene, safe
drinking water, primary health, neo natal and post natal
care, safe delivery, human rights, life skills and even
early childcare development.
