Pakistan Human Development Fund is a three way partnership between
Government of Pakistan
Private Sector
International Donor Community.
The Fund was established to support the activities and operations of the National Commission for Human Development. As a result no recurring expenditure will be incurred by the Government of Pakistan. The Commission plans to raise funds and mobilize resources from all over the world through private donors and public-private partnerships as a part of their Global Resource Mobilization program. An independent Board of Trustees will manage the fund. The board is comprised of distinguished Pakistanis of international repute.
President Pervez Musharraf will be Patron-in-Chief of the Pakistan Human Development Fund
Begum and General Pervez Musharraf have personally donated $2,000 to the Fund
General Pervez Musharraf's mother has donated an additional $2,000 to the Fund

The Fund will be supported by:
An initial grant of $32 million (Rs 2 billion) by the Government of Pakistan
Seed capital of $2.5 million (Rs.150 million) donated by individual philanthropists
International donor agencies
International Foundations
Corporate donations
Worldwide mobilization of resources from expatriate and local Pakistanis
Aims and Objectives:
The main objective of the fund is to consolidate efforts towards building human capabilities by implementation of various programs and projects in the social sectors for the improvement and enhancement of education and literacy; primary health care; poverty alleviation; development of working skills; improvement of social services and provision of institutional mechanism for its support and implementation and the participation of women in all spheres of national life.
The Fund will support the the work and programs of the National Commission for Human Development which include the following programs:
Literacy and Income Generating Schemes
Primary Education for All
Basic Health Care including Family Planning
Gender Empowerment
Management Training and Capacity Building at District Levels
